The Mammaries of the Welfare State is the sequel to Upamanyu Chatterjee’s debut novel, English, August. It won the Sahitya Akademi Award (English) in 2004.
The novel brought its author the 2004 Sahitya Akademi Award for English, by the Sahitya Akademi, India's National Academy of Letters.[1]
